20 Question IQ Test

20 Question IQ Test This 20 question untimed multiple choice verbal test will measure your vocabulary size, knowledge, and lateral thinking abilities.

Try to determine which word, number, title or symbol does not belong in each of the following puzzles. Try to find the BEST answer. If you find what you believe might be the answer, but it seems like a bit of a stretch, it is probably not the best answer.

Please do not use any reference materials (e.g. books, calculators, online or computer resources) or the help of anyone else in working these problems. You may use scrap paper, and pen or pencil.

Many of the problems are quite difficult, and several may contain words, names or terms with which you may be unfamiliar. Be sure to answer every problem, even if this means guessing on some problems. There are no penalties for guessing.

Although there is no time limit, try to complete the test in 1 or 2 sessions.

Your estimated IQ score, general population percentile ranking, and the answers to the problems are all provided when you complete the test.

Some fun facts about this test:

This set of puzzles was created by Bill Bultas and appeared on years ago.

In 2002 had 5 different types of "brain teaser" t-shirts printed up that had puzzles on the front and the answers on the back. 40 shirts (in varying sizes) were printed of each type (so 200 shirts in all). One of the shirt types had problems 11-15 from this test on the front, with the answers on the back. Friends of Bill's occasionally are seen wearing these shirts (yes, we're geeks), and many were sent to locations around the globe to winners of puzzle contests that were held years ago. The "20 Question IQ Test" shirt is Bill's personal favorite.
